Tasting Notes
Initially gentle on the nose, followed by juicy aromas of ripe pears, kumquat, a hint of green apple, and yellow stone fruit characterize this refreshing wine. Very harmonious with fine minerality and an invigorating acidity.
Food Recommendation
A wonderful, uncomplicated wine for all occasions, whether with light dishes such as salmon, risottos, or salads. The perfect glass of wine for a pleasant conversation with friends or to unwind at the end of the day.
Winemaking and Aging
The grapes were selectively harvested and lightly crushed in vats in the vineyard to ensure a longer maceration period. Whole cluster pressing took place for approximately 6 hours. The wine was fermented without any added yeasts or enzymes in stainless steel tanks for several months.
Growing Region and Climate
Viticulture in the Mosel region is characterized by its unique landscape. The character of the growing areas is shaped by the special geological, topographical, and microclimatic interplay. The grapes for this Kabinett come from the two vineyards of Bernkasteler Johannesbrünnchen and Bernkasteler Schlossberg, belonging to the Wwe. Dr. H. Thanisch Erben Müller-Burggraef winery. The Mosel climate is among the warmest in Germany, and its proximity to the river provides excellent conditions for viticulture. The slate soils of the steep, sun-drenched slopes store heat and release it to the vines at night, largely preventing frost.
