Tasting Notes
The initial exciting nose is followed by juicy aromas of wild strawberries and raspberries, a hint of white nougat, slightly tart and earthy herbal notes with a touch of ethereal hints. These characterize this refreshing, profound, and finely balanced sparkling wine. The subtle wood note from the French barriques lends the sparkling wine a pleasant complexity. Very harmonious with fine minerality and an invigorating acidity.
Food Pairing
A wonderful, pleasant companion, whether enjoyed alone on the terrace with friends or as an excellent accompaniment to light dishes such as steamed fish, poultry, or salads.
Vinification and Aging
The grapes were selectively harvested and lightly crushed in the vats in the vineyard to achieve a longer maceration time. The whole cluster pressing lasted for approximately 3 hours. The sparkling wine was fermented in barriques for several months without any added yeasts or enzymes and bottled at the end of March. There, this unique sparkling experience spent well over two years on the lees until the first batch was disgorged.
Growing Region and Climate
Viticulture in the Mosel region is characterized by its unique landscape. The character of the growing areas is shaped by the special geological, topographical, and microclimatic interplay. The grapes for this wine were grown in the Lieser Niederberg-Helden vineyard. This vineyard is an excellent steep slope with deep, stony clay-weathered soil, facing south-southwest.
